Radiant energy travels through he air in waves, and only when it strikes another object does it actually produce heat. In the winter, the heat from the inside will radiate from conventional insulation and building materials so that a good deal of the radiant energy is lost to the cold outside. Radiance Low-E Attic and Decking Radiant Barrier reflects more than 50% of the radiant energy back, reducing and slowing down the heat loss in buildings in the cold months. In the summer, radiant heat enters primarily from the roofs, ehating attics and insulation to extreme levels during the day, trapping the heat which continues to emit into the home long after the sun has gone down. IN EVERDAY USE:
Radiance Low-E Attic & Decking Radiant Barrier is applied in one coat over wood surfaces, masonry or properly primed metal surfaces. It can be brushed rolled or sprayed, but spraying is the most common and efficient method when considering nail protrusions. One important thing to remember is that Radiance Low-E Attic & Decking Radiant Barrier must be exposed to the air on the underside of the roof. If you cover it with any building material or coating, it will not work.
