44-T FORMULA TILE GROUT ADDITIVE
RETARDANT
ACRYLIC
FOR SHRINK CONTROL - WATERPROOFING - HIGH BOND
STRENGTH
With the biggest percentage of tile setting
today being installed without soaking the tiles, many problems have developed: Shrinking
grout joints, popouts, cross cracks in wide joints, grout joints powdering cut, bad
shading on colored joints, little consideration for porcelain type tiles and marble. Lack
of damp curing, and not enough expertise, have caused the major portion of all tile
failures.
Under excessive heat conditions and dry temperatures we recommend BERYLEX 44-T
Acrylic Grout Additive Retardant for all grouts. This will allow more open time
to complete the grouting process by slowing down the setting up period.
ACCORDING TO LABEL INSTRUCTIONS:
I. Stir contents in container well before diluting.
2. Add 3 parts water to 1 part 44 -T and stir again.
3. Use only this solution as the wetting agent for any factory or job prepared grout
mix and stir.
4. Add just enough solution for good grout workability.
5. Let stand for 15 minutes then remix.
6. On high porosity tiles, pre-wet prior to grouting.
7. BERYLEX 44-T will in no way affect normal grouting.
8. Damp cure to assure a senses, non-shrinking grout joint.
9. On rough sanded grout joints, we would recommend going over the surface or the
grout with a margin trowel, while the grout is still damp. This method will force the
coarse particles of the sand back into the joint and bring the cement to the surface. With
a smoother grout surface, it makes it easier to maintain.
10. Going over a green grout job with a wet sponge tends to draw the surface cement
out of the grout joint. This in turn leaves the coarse particles of sand exposed and will
accumulate more dirt and be more prone to picking up stains.
BERYLEX 44-T Formula tile regular is formulated with BERYLEX
Liquid Concentrate tile to assure density and hardness under strict
quality control.
