Winds speeds - Snow loads - Local buiIding codes

Theme Park Tour Clamshelters® USA/Asia
At Clamshell, we insist on providing a building strong enough to meet your local code for wind and snow loads. Safety and performance
depend on it. Factoring your required building span and height against the building code in the area where the structure will be located is
key to determining the optimal beam/truss selection for your Clamshelter®.
In addition, if equipment (such as lighting, hoists, stage props, heating or electronic
gear) will be suspended from the arches of the structure, a careful, experienced
selection of building design is critical.
With 5 truss systems, 4 box beams and one I-beam design, Clamshell offers a
menu of the most versatile and cost-effective systems in the industry. Use our simple
chart to estimate your beam/truss choice. But remember, it takes an engineer to
factor in all the variables to meet code and assure maximum safety and
performance.
For example, a Clamshelter® cost-engineered to withstand hurricane force winds in
Miami or to meet code in a heavy snow area such as Buffalo may require a
significantly different choice of arch design and bay width than a building of equal
span and height erected in coastal southern California.
