SOLID SURFACES
ROUTINE CARE and MAINTENANCE

Etura is an elegant, modern solid surface material. Etura composition is a homogeneous thermoset polymer alloy, composed of polyester and acrylic components. Etura provides a choice of solid and veined colors to give a rich, luxurious feeling to kitchen counters, work islands, wet bars, vanity tops and many other items.

While Etura is extremely tough and durable, like any fine material it can be damaged if abused or mistreated A review of these care and maintenance tips will enable you to see just how easy Etura is to care for.

A FEW SIMPLE PRECAUTIONS: Do not place hot pans directly from the burner or oven on the Etura surface. Even though Etura can withstand sustained temperatures up to 350 degrees, prolonged or extreme heat could cause yellowing.

Do not use countertops as a cutting board. Although minor cuts and scratches in Etura can be repaired, deep cuts will require the services of a professional. (An extra piece of Etura from your fabricator makes an excellent cutting board).

Strong acids should be used cautiously around Etura products. If they are accidentally spilled, wipe them up at once. Some products with acids may cause whitening, which can be difficult to remove.

On matte /satin finish, wiping the surface with a damp cloth removes water marks. For stains wipe with soapy water or ammonia based cleaners. On stubborn stains use a Scotch-Brite® pad.

CIGARETTES: While Etura will not burn, should a lighted cigarette accidentally come in contact with the surface it could easily leave a nicotine stain or scorch mark. This is easily removed with a Scotch-Brite®pad.

GRANITE PATTERNS.- Satin Finish-Typically finished to a level equivalent to 400 grit wet sanding or buffing with a Scotch-Brite® pad For removing superficial scratches, use a Scotch-Brite® pad. Clean thoroughly with soap and water and let dry.

High Gloss Finish-Minor touch up can be achieved by applying fine finish polishing. Compound on the area like a crayon and polishing with a light hand buffing wheel or soft clean dry cloth.

REPAIRING SCRATCHES. Typically your solid color Etura top will be finished to a level equivalent to sanding with 320 grit sandpaper. For removing superficial scratches use A Scotch-Brite® pad until the scratches are removed. Clean thoroughly with soap and water and let dry.
