Long-term Value

The price per foot is just one part of the total life cycle cost of a material. When you compare materials on the basis of life cycle cost, you must factor in the original installation cost of the material, the number of years it lasts, costs of maintaining a desirable appearance, costs of installation/removal/disposal, lost revenues during renovation, etc.

Once you look at the whole equation, you'll see that CORIAN can make a lot more economic sense than other types of surfaces, even if their initial cost is lower.

The initial cost of some other surface materials may be lower when compared to CORIAN. But over time, CORIAN typically pays you back. The solid beauty of CORIAN goes all the way through, making this material renewable and easy to maintain. Nicks, scratches and stains are easily removed from CORIAN. Once other surfaces are marred, in most cases the damage is irreversible. You may find they have to be replaced. But CORIAN withstands years and years of use. Instead of replacing it, you need only renew it. Look beyond the surface, to make a lasting investment.

Appearance Over Time
 
CORIAN continues to look new over time, while other surfaces are only new once. Due to its solid composition, CORIAN can be renewed time and time again. Once other surfaces are marred, the scar remains for the life of the installation. CORIAN retains its beautiful appearance over a long period of time, with only periodic maintenance. The appearance of other surfaces fades over time, and the only solution is replacement. CORIAN lasts and lasts.

A quick wipe with a damp cloth removes most spills and water marks. For thorough routine cleaning, soapy water or an ammonia-based surface cleaner is recommended. Powder or liquid abrasive cleanser and/or scrubbing with a green Scotch-Brite* pad will remove tougher stains and more difficult spots, such as graffiti or cigarette burns.

Deep cuts and scratches should be sanded first with 120-grit sandpaper. Sand again with 180- to 240- grit sandpaper to remove all traces of damage. Buff with a green Scotch-Brite pad to restore the original satiny sheen of CORIAN.
