"I’m an architect by training and a product designer by vocation. I came to CORIAN by way of my furniture design work. I looked beyond the usual materials and started using CORIAN. As soon as you start working with this material, you realize that it has some wonderful and unique properties.

"CORIAN opens up a whole new realm of ideas... because it gives us an incredible one-piece look. Pulling it together without any seams showing just gives us the ability to work with all kinds of angles and corners, thicknesses, round, square.

"Interior moldings of CORIAN are going to be a big item in the future. You don’t have to paint them. If vacuum cleaners or any type of carts bump into them, you can just wipe them down.

"The furniture area is where we are going to see growth. CORIAN gives us the flexibility of having random-shaped pieces. You can make it go with everything from modern to very traditional.

"Thermoforming opens up a whole new area of design. We just did a bank where we did a 12-inch (304.8 mm) thermoform full bull-nose. Unbelievable. It looks like the countertop is 12 inches thick. If we had to do this by stacking the material, it would just be an impossible cost.

"I think we all need to work a little harder to make the design community aware of all the things we can do with CORIAN. We really need to go out there and let them know everything that’s going on with CORIAN today."
