"CORIAN lends itself to a lot of different uses.

"For example, we used it in lieu of stone for a fireplace fascia. I used it for a cafe-style door to a bath enclosure. We’ve used CORIAN for free-standing modular walls, such as in tub surrounds, to give a more substantial look to a room. You can build up structures to make them really chunky...to give them a feeling of mass.

"A lot of craftspeople are surprised at what can be done with CORIAN... the total versatility of it. It drills easy and clean. It’s structurally strong, so you can attach hardware to it easily. It’s a lightweight material. It doesn’t need any additional structural support to use it, as other solid materials do, such as granite or marble. It’s much easier to install, too.

"During construction, any kind of chips or scratches can be easily taken out, to make the material look like new again. It’s very forgiving. The fact that it’s repairable has made CORIAN more cost-effective to me, as a builder, than lots of other materials."

"When we let our imagination go, the diversity of applications that CORIAN allows is unbelievable. We’ve done everything with CORIAN from operating room walls to sushi boards. We’re seeing applications we never thought we’d see, in smaller restaurants, fast-food. We did judges’ chambers for the State of Illinois, because of the value of the product. They’ll never have to be replaced.

"Over the years we’ve seen that CORIAN can really handle the Chicago weather in outdoor applications. We did a five-foot (1524 mm) by eight-foot (2438.4 mm) monument in a central garden area of a cemetery, shaped like an open Bible, with the Lord’s Prayer sand-blasted into it. It’s been in the weather six years and still looks like brand new.
