Moisture from rain, sprinkler systems, snow and ice causes wood to swell.  It shrinks when drying. Over time, swelling and shrinking contribute to unsightly checking, cracking, splitting and warping.

UltraWood^®'s advanced water repellent is applied with the preservative during pressure-treatment to fight checking, cracking, splitting and warping. It is not brushed-on. When UltraWood is sawn, drilled or planed, exposed surfaces are protected. And, like all pressure-treated wood, UltraWood effectively fights rot, decay and termite attack.
