INTELLIGENT TURBINE PUMP (VARIABLE SPEED) SPECIFICATIONS
GENERAL
- The entire pumping assembly shall have UL listing.
- The pump discharge head and manifold assembly shall be
manufactured from ASTM A48 Class 30 gray iron.
- The motor shall be 2 hp variable frequency, 3 phase designed
for installation through a standard 4" tank opening.
- The pump motor shall have a thermal overcurrent overload
protector with automatic reset.
- The pump motor assembly shall be clearly marked with
pertinent information including Model, Horsepower, Voltage, Phase, and Manufacturer etched
into the pump shell for permanent identification.
- Pump to be UL listed as standard for use in fuels containing
up to 15% ethanol or methanol with gasoline and 20% MTBE, 20% ETBE or 17% TAME with
gasoline and diesel fuel. Optional Alcohol / Gas compatible construction is available
which is UL listed in fuel mixtures containing any combination of ethanol or methanol and
gasoline, and 20% MTBE, 20% ETBE or 17% TAME with gasoline. Alcohol /Gas construction is
designated with "AG" added to STP model number, or "IST" model
designation.
- The pumping unit shall not incorporate any flexible
diaphragms. All sealing shall be accomplished with O-rings or UL recognized fiber gaskets.
- The pump shall operate with a variable frequency controller.
The controller shall be designed to vary the speed of the motor to provide constant flow
to up to 8 car fueling nozzles operating simultaneously at a predetermined flow rate of
less than 10 GPM (38 LPM) to meet federally mandated "Spitback" control. The
controller shall have the following additional functions :
- Dry Run Protection. Accomplished by continual
monitoring of motor power consumption. The controller shall turn the motor off when the
tank is pumped empty.
- Report Abnormal Operating Conditions. The
controller shall report the following abnormal operating conditions by means of a red
flashing light on the face of the controller, or by connection to a computer through an RS
485 communications port.

- Manual Reset Button . The controller shall be
equipped with a manual reset button, which is pressed upon correction of any of the above
faults.
- The front cover of the controller shall be clearly marked to
define the abnormal conditions indicated by the flashing red light.
