
Franklin Brass was founded by Louis Sharpe in
Chicago in 1935. While primarily serving the building trade, he developed and
manufactured many specialty hardware items including a bathroom accessory line of forged
brass. In 1946, Franklin Brass relocated to Los Angeles where Joseph Simons joined
the company. At that time, Franklin Brass began producing chrome plated zamak
bathroom accessories for the developing post-war residential market. By 1965,
Franklin Brass had expanded its product line to include specialty lines for the
hotel-motel industry and decorative lines for custom homes and apartments. In 1970,
with the addition of the Decor Bathware® visible pack bathware line for the consumer market,
Franklin Brass confirmed its place as the leading manufacturer of American made bath
accessories.Franklin Brass is
