WALLMASTER® THRU-THE-WALL HEAT PUMPS
All units shall be certified in accordance with the
Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers (AHAM) Room Air Conditioner Certification
Program and bear the AHAM Certification Seal. All units shall be UL listed.
Unit chassis shall fit into a solid side wall sleeve
16-¾" high by 27" wide by 16-¾" deep. Overall depth of the unit from the
rear of the wall sleeve to the front of the front panel shall not exceed 23".
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM - The refrigeration system
shall consist of a hermetically sealed rotary compressor that is externally mounted on
vibration isolators; condenser and evaporator coils constructed of copper tubes and
aluminum plate fins; and capillaries as refrigerant expansion devices. The coils shall be
of a draw-through design to facilitate cleaning. The compressor shall have three minute
time delay and external overload protection.
Unit shall operate in heating mode by means of reverse
cycle operation down to 47° F. At 47° F unit shall automatically change over to electric
resistance heating.
Unit shall automatically initiate defrost operation when
ice forms on outside coil at which time compressor operation stops and the electric
resistance heater energizes to provide heat for the room. Upon completion of the outdoor
coil defrosting, compressor operation resumes.
AIR HANDLING SECTION - The indoor and outdoor fans
shall be driven by one permanently lubricated split capacitor motor with built-in thermal
overload protection and serviceable oil ports. Air flow shall be directed horizontally
into the room by a discharge grille that is factory pro-set to provide maximum air
circulation into the room. The grille shall be owner adjustable to direct air vertically.
CONTROLS - Covered controls on the top-front of the
unit shall include a mode/fan speed selector switch which allows for 3 cooling and 3
heating speeds plus fan-only operation; rotary thermostat control; and a slide switch to
open stale air exhaust vent.
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - The wall sleeve shall be
constructed of 18 gauge G90 zinc-coated steel. It shall be prepared by a process where it
is zinc phosphate pretreated and sealed with a chromate rinse, then electrostatically
coated with a polyester finish, and oven cured for durability. The wall sleeve shall be
shipped separately from the chassis and shall include stamped aluminum outdoor grille and
indoor and outdoor painted steel weather panels.
An optional extruded aluminum outdoor architectural grille
shall be available in any color for enhanced appearance.
The decorative front shall have a contoured air discharge
with no sharp comers. The air filter shall be removable without removing the decorative
front.
The unit shall be capable of mounting within 1" from
the floor and adjacent walls.
