VERT-I-PAK™ SINGLE PACKAGE VERTICAL AIR
CONDITIONERS
All units shall be factory assembled, piped, wired and
fully charged with R-22. Units shall be UL listed and carry a UL label. Units are
approved for 0" clearance. All units shall be factory run-tested to check operation.
The basic unit shall not exceed 23" wide x 23"
deep x 31-¼" high. Unit shall draw in ambient air through upper portion of an
outside architectural louver measuring 25-3/8" wide x 31-½" high and shall
exhaust heated air out through the lower portion of louver. The unit shall be secured to
architectural louver by means of a two part, weather-resistant wall plenum. The unit shall
be capable of left, right or staight-in installations into mechanical closet without field
modifications.
REFRIGERATION SYSTEM - The refrigeration system
shall consist of a hermetically sealed rotary compressor that is externally mounted on
vibration isolators; condenser and evaporator coils constructed of copper tubes and
aluminum plate fins; and capillaries as refrigerant expansion devices. The coils shall be
draw-through design to facilitate cleaning. Unit shall have fan slinger ring to increase
efficiency and condensate disposal and have a primary condensate removal system consisting
of ½" MPT flexible internal drain hose for easy removal. A secondary condensate
removal system shall also be available for back-up and shall overflow through the wall
plenum and to the outside of the building.
AIR HANDLING SECTION - The evaporator and condenser
fans shall be driven by a single, totally enclosed, ball bearing, permanently lubricated
split capacitor fan motor. Air flow shall be directed vertically up through a standard
10" flex duct starter collar and into flexible or rigid ducts to be distributed into
the conditioned area. Starter collar shall have both crimped edge to ease flex duct
installation and a waistline to prevent duct from loosening.
CONTROLS - The unit shall be factory-equipped with
six foot line cord and thermostat-ready plug and harness for connection to standard 24
volt single-stage heat/cool thermostat. A 24 volt transformer shall be included and
factory wired. Controls on the top of the unit shall include rocker switch to manually set
high or low fan speed. The unit shall have a quick-disconnect to disable power for control
box service.
GENERAL CONSTRUCTION - The unit shall be constructed
of 18 gauge G90 zinc-coated steel. It shall be insulated for thermal efficiency. The wall
plenum (required factory accessory) shall be constructed of 20 gauge G90 zinc-coated
steel; pre-treated with zinc-phosphate and sealed with a chromate rinse; electrostatically
coated with a polyester finish; and oven cured for durability. The architectural louver
(required factory accessory) shall be fabricated from extruded anodized aluminum with
louvers in the horizontal plane.
The unit shall include four 1" vibration isolators to
mount under the chassis, and a non-rigid plenum-to-chassis connection to isolate
vibrations from the building.
The unit shall have plastic fan, fan shroud and drain pan
for corrosion protection and to prevent rust on the side of the building below outdoor
louver.
The unit shall be constructed so as to allow return air
filter brackets (factory accessory) to be affixed directly on to the unit chassis. Other
optional factory accessories shall be available for mounting return air filter in
mechanical closet door or access panel. Unit shall use standard 16" x 20" air
filter.
Optional return air grilles shall be available as
factory accessories for installation in the wall or door of the mechanical closet.
