Modified Bitumen Adhesive DESCRIPTION: RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Adhesive is an asbestos-free, fibrated rubberized adhesive with a bonding strength designed specifically for Cold Applied RUBEROID® MOP Modified bitumen membranes. It sets by loss of solvent through evaporation. Lap strengths far exceed minimum requirements of ASTM D-3019. RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Adhesive has excellent low temperature flexibility. It does not require red label solvent identification. USES: RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Adhesive is especially formulated for use in the construction of RUBEROID® MOP Modified Bitumen Membrane Systems. Designed to be used only with GAF RUBEROID® MOP modified bitumen membranes. DO NOT use with polyethylene backed or APP modified bitumen membranes. It has many advantages over the use of hot asphalt applications. APPLICATION: All surfaces to be coated with RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Adhesive must be dry, swept clean and free from oil, grease, rust, scale, loose paint and dirt. The RUBEROID® MOP Modified Bitumen Membrane must also be free of excessive talc, mica or anti-blocking agents which will prevent positive adhesion. Stir thoroughly in container and apply by notched squeegee or suitable spray equipment. A notched squeegee with notches 1/4" long, 1/8" deep and spaced 1" on centers is preferred method for smooth surfaces. Depth of notch should be 1/4" for irregular surfaces. Average application rate is 1.5 gal. per 100 sq. ft. Sufficient adhesive should be applied at laps to result in a visible bead of adhesive at completed lap edge. RUBEROID® Mop Modified Bitumen Membrane should be cut in max. 18 ft. Iengths and allowed to relax on job site. Laps must be weighted or rolled after application. See the current RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Roofing Application and Specifications Manual for instructions on vertical wall flashings. |

| Ruberoid® Modified Bitumen Flashing Cement DESCRIPTION: RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Flashing Cement is an asbestos-free, fibrated rubberized cement with a bonding strength designed specifically for cementing RUBEROID® MOP Modified Bitumen Membranes. It sets by loss of solvent through evaporation. Because of its ease of application and strong bonding, it is recommended for vertical applications of RUBEROID® Mop Modified Bitumen Membranes for flashing and detail work. RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Flashing Cement has excellent low temperature flexibility. It does not require red label solvent identification. USES: RUBEROID® Modified Bitumen Flashing Cement is formulated for use as a vertical flashing and detail cement for RUBEROID® MOP Modified Bitumen Membranes. APPLICATION: All surfaces to be coated with RUBEROID®
Modified Bitumen Flashing Cement must be dry, clean and free from oil, grease, rust,
scale, loose paint and dirt. |

DESCRIPTION: GAF Aluminum Emulsion is a modified colloid bituminous emulsion roof coating. GAF Aluminum Emulsion reduces surface temperature and penetration of the sun's ultraviolet rays to the roof surface, thereby retarding deterioration of that surface. GAF Aluminum Emulsion helps reduce interior temperature and protects the roof membrane by reducing heat absorption and asphalt oxidation. USES: GAF Aluminum Emulsion can be used on industrial and commercial roofing systems, such as smooth surfaced built-up and modified bitumen membranes, when properly prepared. APPLICATION: Remove all loose slag and dirt from roof surface by power washing, brooming and vacuuming. Prime all weathered surfaces and all wire brushed rust spots with GAF Asphalt/Concrete Primer at the rate of 1/2 gallon per 100 square feet. Allow primer to dry 48 hours. Apply to dry surface or very slightly damp surface. Apply with a good quality soft synthetic bristle brush/broom, long napped (1/2") roller or spray gun (min. 60 mil orifice). Apply 1 to 1 1/2 gallons per 100 square feet. Apply liberally, brushing in one direction only. Avoid over-brushing so as to prevent interference with the leafing action of the aluminum. Do not use a standard stiff bristle roofing brush; poor coverage, streaking or a grained appearance may result. NOTE: Stir material in container thoroughly in a bottom to top motion. IMPORTANT: Do not apply unless temperatures are at least 50ºF and rising, or if rain is predicted within 24 hours. Keep from freezing. |
