The Industry Standard
 Description
GAFTEMP Permalite Roof Insulation is a rigid mineral aggregate insulation board composed
of expanded perlite, cellulose fibers, binders, and water-resisting agents. Its tough top
surface is treated to retain bitumen or a tight bond with the membrane. Available in
24" x 48" and 48" x 48" boards.
Uses
· A thermal insulation and base for most membranes over any structural deck.
· A layer to protect pure foam insulations from hot asphalts.
· A protective layer over soft insulation susceptible to traffic damage.
· When FMRC and/or UL approved systems are specified.
Advantages
· Tough, heavy top surface retains asphalt to bond tightly to the membrane.
· Exceptional fire resistance.
· Cost-effective thermal performance for moderate R-values.
· Proven performance for more than 30 years.
· Guaranteed as a substrate by most single ply, modified bitumen, and BUR membrane
manufacturers.
· Resistant to water penetration.
