Epoxy Coating Systems
Epoxy coatings are used for new or slightly worn concrete for protection and enhancement. They are efficient, effective ways to protect and improve the appearance of a facility. This type of coating system can be applied as a 1-3 coat system. A primer is typically applied and then, depending on the environment, one or two topcoats are required. Polyurethane Coating Systems
Polyurethane coatings are used for new or slightly worn concrete for protection against UV light, abrasion, chemicals and stains. All of the polyurethanes, excluding Ever-Wear 1000 or UR 1000, require an epoxy primer and can be applied with one or two coats. ESD Systems
ESD systems are used for applications that can't tolerate any type of static charge in the environment. The Garland Floor Company offers a full line of ESD coatings and toppings, allowing you to cost-effectively design an ESD-control system. All of Garland's ESD coatings and toppings require a primer coat of Chemi-Cote EPHB CR. Depending on the system and desired range for electrical properties, some systems may require an application of Chemi-Cote ESD PR1 or ESD PR3, our conductive and dissipative primer respectively. Depending on the requirements and type of environment, one or two coats of Chemi-Cote ESD Coatings or Chemi-Top ESD 950 resurfacer may be required. Heavy-Duty Resurfacer Systems
Floor resurfacers are used for badly deteriorated concrete or areas with heavy traffic/impact. The Garland Floor Company offers a full line of floor resurfacers that allows you to cost-effectively design a floor system. All of Garland's resurfacers require a primer. All, except for Chemi-Top 900, require a topcoat. Slurry Systems
A slurry system is used in applications where the floor surface is too rough for a coating, but has not yet deteriorated to the point where a resurfacer is required. Chemi-LDR 610 is Garland's slurry system. It requires a primer coat before application. Decorative Systems
Chemi-Quartz is a decorative, yet durable flooring system combining solid or multicolored silica-quartz aggregates permanently embedded in a tough, clear, two-component epoxy. The topcoat is a two-component polyurethane providing UV, chemical and stain resistance or a reduced yellowing epoxy. Typically, Chemi-Quartz provides a resurfacing thickness of 1/16" to 1/8". Corrosion-Control Systems
Chemi-Guard VE systems are vinyl ester systems for steel and concrete surfaces. Chemi-Cote EN 7000 is a 100% solids, low odor Novalac coating for steel and concrete surfaces. The Chemi-Guard and EN systems are available for broadcast, spray or roller applications. These systems are ideal for secondary containment applications inside or outside. Both systems are excellent coatings because of their unique combination of chemical resistance, impact resistance and high bond strength to concrete or steel. Depending on the system specified, these products provide increased chemical resistance to strong acids, caustics, salts, and solvents, and hydrofluoric acid exposure. Chemi-Guard VE systems require a VE primer and two coats of VE 3000 or VE 3000G. An optional fiberglass mat or flexible membrane can be added for crack bridging and movement of the concrete. Chemi-Cote EN 7000 requires a primer. An optional fiberglass mat or flexible membrane can be used to bridge cracks. |
