Chemi-Cote®

DESCRIPTION

Chemi-Cote ESD EP-1000 is a 96%-solids, low-odor, three-component ESD epoxy coating. It is designed to impart electrostatic control properties to a variety of substrates, including existing nonconductive coatings, resurfacers and concrete. It offers a unique combination of ESD control properties, impact resistance and high bond strength to concrete or steel.

The Chemi-Cote ESD EP-1000 System provides excellent protection for concrete and metal surfaces, keeping these surfaces smooth, bright and far more chemical resistant. The VOC content is less than 0.52 lbs./gal. (62 grams/liter). A cycloaliphatic amine curing agent is utilized to provide good adhesion, physical and chemical-resistant properties.

Chemi-Cote ESD EP 1000 can be used in almost any environment where the damaging effects of electrostatic discharge cannot be tolerated. Industries currently utilizing this coating include the electronics, data processing, military/aerospace, photographic/graphic arts, and hazard industries (dust or explosion hazards).

PACKAGING

Chemi-Cote ESD EP-1000 is supplied in a kit form. The kit consists of an ESD pack designated ESDEP1-TB1, an activator designated CA-071-A, and a color pack designated EPxxxCP1.

The color pack designations indicate the following:

EP- Indicates "epoxy" coating system

xxx - Three numbers that indicate the final color of the tinted coating

CP1- The "1" indicates the color pack is added to ESDEP1-TB1

TYPICAL PHYSICAL PROPERTIES

• Abrasion Resistance: CS-17 Wheels, 60-80 mgs./1000 cycles (ASTM D 4060 Taber Abraser, 1000 gm. load per wheel)
• Impact Resistance: 80 in.-lbs. (89.6 cm. -kg.) direct and reverse (ASTM D 2794 Gardner)
• Flexibility: 1/4 in. (.62 cm.) passes test (ASTM D 522 Conical Mandrel)
• Hardness: 2B (ASTM D 3363 Pencil)
• Adhesion: Concrete: 350 psi (2.4 Mpa) - concrete failure (ASTM D 4541 Elcometer)
• Gloss: (60°) 80-90
