GLOBETRAY - Channel Splice Connectors & Location Recommendations

GLOBETRAY®  CABLE TRAY SYSTEMS

CHANNEL SPLICE CONNECTORS &
LOCATION RECOMMENDATIONS

GLOBETRAY® Splice Connectors are heavy-gauge metal splice plates, furnished with 3/8" truss-head bolts and serrated-flange nuts of electrogalvanized steel. Bolts have ribbed locking shanks to prevent rotation while being tightened. With these connectors resistance between tray sections does not exceed 0.00033 ohms (see NEMA Standard VE-1).

NOTE: All splice plates are supplied in pairs with all necessary hardware.

SPAN CONDITIONS

NOTE: (1) Since spliced joints normally have lesser load capacity than tray sections., splice locations confined to points of minimal stress take fullest advantage of cable tray strength. Optimum splice locations are at approximate quarter-points (one-fourth the clear span distance from the support), or next best, between quarter-points and nearest tray support. For these locations, allowable loads found in this catalog may be used without reduction.

NOTE (2): Splices must be avoided in: (1) single spans, (2) end spans of multiple spans.
