Engineers Specifications

Furnish and install the following Hastings (Natural) (Propane) gas fired equipments

Item no. Model no. Btuh Input SCFM Ext.S.P Motor HP Motor Volts and Phase

Equipment Casing and Base

  1. Casing shall be constructed of high quality aluminized steel to insure long rust-free life.
  2. Access panels shall be provided to allow easy access to motor, filters (if ordered) and electrical controls.
  3. Casing shall have a rinse primer and an enamel finish.
  4. Base frame channels shall be constructed of 12 gauge aluminized steel for all models through the 214 blower units, 218 units shall have a 1/4" hot rolled system base frame.

Blower Section :

  1. Blower wheels shall be statically and dynamically balanced, forwardly curved double width double inlet class 1.
  2. Blower wheels shall be mounted on a solid ground shaft with keyway for driven sheave.
  3. Bearings shall be ball bearing self-aligning, greasable.
  4. Blower scrolls, bearings, and adjustable motor base shall be mounted and properly reinforced to insure rigidity and quiet operation.
  5. Cabinet shall be of 16 gauge aluminized steel with a primed and enamel finish
  6. The driver and driven sheaves shall be of the keyed hub type. The driven sheave shall be of a fixed pitch diameter and the driver sheave shall be of variable pitch diameter through 10 HP and fixed pitch above 10 HP, V-belt drives shall be sized for 135% of motor horsepower.

Furnace Section :

  1. Heat exchanger9s) shall have all electric welded construction with -
    1. Aluminized steel tubes and header plates with stainless steel internal baffles
      or
    2. Type 409 stainless steel tubes and header plates with stainless steel internal baffles.
      or
    3. Type 321 (chrome-nickel) stainless steel tubes and wither type 321 or 409 header plates with stainless steel internal baffles.

  2. Burners shall be made of 18 gauge aluminized steel with type 430 stainless steel ribbon inserts.Optional 18 gauge 430 stainless steel complete burners available.

  3. Burner tray shall be so constructed as to slide out from compartment for easy service and maintenance.

  4. Gas and electrical components shall consist of not less than the following : 24 volt combination gas valve containing main and pilot gas cocks, main and pilot gas pressure regulators, redundant solenoid gas valves, pilot solenoid gas valve and 100% safety shut-off, also high limit control and 115/24 volt control transformer.

  5. Temperature controls shall consist of :

  1. RHF Models.
    (a) Basic "on-off-auto" blower operation, fan time delay relay and on-off room thermostat.
    (b) Optional two stage gas valve and two stage room thermostat.
    (c) Optional MS-2 " Selectra" space heating  package added to basic system. Solid state electronic modulation, down to 30% of rated input, provides continuous blower operation and extremely close control of space temperature.

  2. RMU Models
    (a) Basic system with non-electric modulating gas valve which modulated down to 30% of rated input and maintains desired leaving air temperature. Higher turn-down rates available on multiple unit applications.  Optional remote control station available with operating switches and indicating lights.
    (b) Optional MS-1 "Selectra" make-up air package replacing basic non-electric gas valve. Solid state electronic modulation, down to 30% of rated input, provides constant leaving temperature.  A temperature selector mounted in the control cabinet or remote from unit permits adjustment of leaving air temperature from a convenient location.
  3. RHV Models
    (a) Basic system with non-electric modulating gas valve which modulates down to 30% of rate input and maintains desired leaving air temperature. Higher turn-down rates available on multiple unit applications. A  by-pass gas valve furnished to override the modulating valve and controlled by an on-off space thermostat to maintain pre-determined room temperature.  Optional remote control station available with operating switches and indicating lights.
    (b) Optional MS-3 "Selectra" make-up air and space heating package replacing basic non-electric gas valve and by-pass gas valve.  Solid state electronic modulation, down to 30% of rated input, provides constant leaving air temperature.  A temperature selector mounted in the control cabinet or remote from unit permits adjustment of leaving air temperature from a convenient location.   Space temperature is controlled by an on-off room thermostat.

F. Cabinet side panels shall be of 20 gauge cold rolled steel and drain pans of 20 gauge aluminized steel. Side panels and drain pans to be finished with enamel.

G. "G" model units shall be equipped with a gravity vent cap on each heater.

H. "V" model units shall be equipped with power venter on each heater.

Motor :

A T-frame, ODP, 1800 RPM prelubricated ball bearing type motor shall be furnished for voltage and scheduled.

Assembly :

The system shall be factory assembled and wired with the exception of controls that are remote to the unit.

Options and Accessories :
