
OIL PIPING

NOTE : Customer must specify : 1) Type of oil
feed system, 2) PSIG at Unit Heater (if pressure system); 3) Vertical distance from top of
tank to Unit Heater (if gravity system) Pressure system must be used if gravity
system "head" or suction system "lift" cannot overcome piping
resistance.

ARRANGEMENTS
Determine correct heater manifold arrangement
and required factory options after type of oil feed system is decided. Manifold items are
shipped loose field installation,. All piping and lifting by others.

Engineers Specifications
Furnish and install the following oil-fired
unit heaters as manufactured by Hastings Industries.

A. General
: Unit(s) shall be factory assembled and wired complete with burner,
propeller fan and motor assembly, casting, controls and safety devices. Wiring external to
the unit shall be done by the installer.
Unit(s) shall be 80 percent efficient at
full-rated operating condition as measured by flue-gas temperature and CO2 content prior
to being exhausted.
B. Control :
Main power shall be 120/60/1; control voltage shall be 24 volt. Electric spark ignition
shall be provided.
C. Casing
shall be (cold-rolled steel with enamel finish) (aluminum) complete with horizontal air
discharge louvers.
D. Burner shall
be of the high pressure, oil-atomizing type with mechanically forced draft.
E. Heat
Exchanger ; Model UFO-10 shall have pyrolite lined mid steel firing
chamber and secondary section of vertical aluminized steel tubes. Models UFO-25 and 50
shall have two-pass 16 gauge primary heating chamber and single pass gauge mild steel
secondary section.
F. Fan and Fan
Motor : Fan(S) shall be propeller type with aluminum blades fastened
to a steel hub. Fan(s) shall be direct-driven by 120 volt, totally enclosed, permanently
lubricated motor(s) with internal overload protection.
