Form, Function and Drama Patch Fittings - The Ultimate Form -Follows-Function Solution For Your Glass Entrance Systems. Patch fittings are the design solution from Europe for creating dramatic "floating glass" effects and the "all glass" entrance. With patch fittings, the glass itself takes center stage. Because their surface size is reduced to its absolute functional minimum, patch fittings become dramatic visual accents to the glass, rather than a restricting frame. Patch fittings also let you create "all glass" entrance systems. Because they work in mix and-match pairs, patch fittings let you assemble any combination of transoms, sidelites, doors, walls, and fixed glass panels you may desire. For example, a top patch fitting mounted on a door panel's upper corner can be matched with a wall transom fitting, allowing the door to pivot beneath a glass transom. Or the same top patch fitting can work with a sidelite-transom fitting, making the door part of an all-glass installation. In determining your patch fitting needs, just be sure to think in pairs: each top or bottom door patch must fit into a unit (attached to wall, floor, transom or sidelite) that provides the corresponding pivot. Beyond that, the options are almost limitless. You can even combine patch fittings with rails. Patch fittings can also work with closers and locks. Patch locks are available for standard and European cylinder applications, and other locks can be incorporated with center housing in both standard and patch designs.
