GLASS STRENGTH

HGP recommends the use of the glass strength charts shown in ASTM E 1300 (Standard Practice for determining the minimum thickness of Annealed Glass required to resist a specified load).

FOUR-SIDE SUPPORT

Figure 2 recommends the proper glass thickness to meet design load requirements. it depicts the relationship between thickness, size and strength of annealed glass. The charts provide glass strength under uniform load for 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" glass supported on four edges. The dash lines indicate the deflection exceeds 3/4" at that point.
