GLAZING GUIDELINES cont'd
Protective masking, applied to prevent hard-coat damage on ArmorSecure no-spall materials, should not be exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods of time. QUALITY STANDARDS Block-size tolerance for three-ply laminates up to 9/16" thick is ±1 /8"; for four or more plies and thicknesses above 9/16" dimensional tolerance is ±3/16". Thickness tolerance is ±10%. Bow and warp tolerance for symmetrical designs is generally ±1/16" per lineal foot; tolerance for asymmetrical designs and slit windows approaches ±1 /8". Occasional black specs within polycarbonate, minor surface imperfections, small bubbles or inclusions cannot be entirely avoided in heavy laminates. Minor distortions, noticeable under some conditions, are inherent in the extrusion and laminating process. ArmorSecure materials meet or exceed industry quality standards as published in the LSGA Standards Manual and conform to all applicable requirements of ASTM C1036, ANSI Z97.1. ANSI Z26.1 and CPSC 16 CFR 1201. CLEANING PROCEDURES ArmorSecure products should be cleaned in accordance with Lexan cleaning instructions. Use a soft, grit-free cloth or clean sponge and a mild cleaning solution such as Joy liquid detergent or Formula 4098 with warm water. Rinse with clean water and dry promptly with a clean cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents and implements which can scratch the glass or polycarbonate surfaces. Paint, grease and glazing compounds can be removed easily before they dry; rub lightly with naphtha or a solution of 50% isopropyl alcohol and water. Then wash with mild soap and water and dry as instructed above. Benzene, gasoline, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, methyl ethyl ketone and muriatic acid-based materials and solvents should not come in contact with ArmorSecure products.
