Mainplate Glass: Monolithic or insulating glass shall
be fully tempered safety glazing as defined by ASTM
C 1048, ANSI Z97.1 or CPSC 16CFR 1201. |
C. |
Stabilizers: Shall be 3/4" or 1" full tempered safety
glazing as defined by ASTM C 1048, ANSI Z97.1 or
CPSC 16CFR 1201. |
D. |
Patch Fittings: Shall be 6061-T6 aluminum alloy
meeting ASTM B221. Fasteners shall be Grade 8
Cadmium plated hardened steel. Patch covers or cap
finish shall be stainless steel, anodized aluminum,
brass, or painted aluminum as specified. |
E. |
Perimeter glazing channels: Shall be 6063- T5
aluminum alloy meeting ASTM B221 matching the
profile on approved shop drawings, size as required
by glass thickness and glazing requirements. |
F. |
Sealants: Structural glazing joints must be glazed with
an approved structural glazing sealant, such as GE
Ultraglaze 4000, GE Construction 1200 (monolithic
glass), or Dow Corning 795. Perimeter weather seal
shall be a silicone weather seal product, such as GE
Silglaze or Dow Corning 790. |
G. |
Setting blocks: Shall be silicone compatible material
as shown on shop drawings. |
Ill. EXECUTION
A. |
Inspection: Verify that the openings are of correct size
and that adjacent materials are plumb and level. |
B. |
Pre-glazing conference: Verify glazing sequence and
protection of completed work. |
C. |
Installation: Install STACKWALL and related work
using experienced workmen as specified, as detailed
on the approved shop drawings, and in accordance
with STACKWALL erection and glazing instructions
provided by Tempglass. STACKWALL shall be
installed plumb, level, square and true, securely
anchored in place, with all joints neatly siliconed
smooth. STACKWALL jobsite technicians will be
provided as required to insure a quality installation. |
D. |
Completed STACKWALL installation will be
protected from damage during construction in
accordance with provisions of the Contract and the
General Contractors instructions. Protecting devices
will be removed upon completion of project and the
glass will be cleaned to the satisfaction of the
Architect. Final cleaning is by others. |
