STACKWALL Stackwall offers a unique design element that is not achieved with other glass products. This element is an entire glass facade with an uninterrupted plane of glass in an unlimited width. Stackwall presents a panoramic wall of daylight that will become the focal point of a building. Stackwall systems are created by a structural glazing process that utilizes only horizontally tempered vision glass and glass stiffeners. The metal framing is visible only on the perimeters of the building to increase the aesthetic beauty of the all glass wall. |
These walls can be designed in a vast variety of configurations and are frequently used to add a new dimension to hotels, shopping malls, commercial office complexes and race track grandstands. |
HGP offers two structural glass all systems in which insulating glass is used. These systems are IG Stackwall and Finwall. Both of these systems are available in an assortment of glass combinations, including reflective and Low-E coatings for economical and decorative enhancement of a project. The IG Stackwall is available in heights up to 30 feet, while the Finwall is a single lite in height of 12 feet for insulating glass and 16 feet for monolithic glass. The stacked mainplates are joined with the glass mullions by specially designed metal patch fittings and sealed with structural silicone. Both systems have been through extensive testing and are designed to withstand windloads of 150 m.p.h. and have passed simulated earthquake conditions and seismic loading tests. Of the 27 Stackwall installations in the San Francisco area, all survived the 1989 earthquake without structural damage. |
