Comfort Base - page 2

    ComfortBase™
The single-ply concrete flooring system

cb05a.gif (57313 bytes)Comfort Base is perfect for finishing basements or improving concrete slab floors. Say good-bye to cold feet. Now there is a solution to cold concrete floor problems which will increase the floor surface temperature, cushion your feet, provide for a healthier environment and install with ease.

Increase your floor surface temperature with twice the insulation of wood. By providing a constant thermal break from cold concrete floors your rooms will feel warmer. This will help reduce your heating bills.

cb05b.jpg (17492 bytes)Reduce foot, leg and back pain caused by standing, sifting or walking on concrete floors. Comfort Base is a resilient board which cushions unforgiving concrete. Yet it is structural and durable enough for heavy traffic and moving furniture.

The uniquely engineered bottom surface provides a built in ventilation system. This allows concrete to breath naturally without causing panels to curl or bow. A vented room is a healthy room. Comfort Base is easy to install. By following our float method for installation under carpet and pad you eliminate the need for stubborn mechanical fasteners.

Do not suffer through another cold footed morning. Walk barefoot around the house. Let the kids play on the floor. Just make sure you have Comfort Base between you and your concrete floors.

STORAGE AND PROTECTION

Comfort Base should be stored flat at all times prior to installation. Store inside when possible. For exterior storage, Comfort Base should be placed above ground on pallets and covered by exterior tarpaulins.

APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS

A) General Requirements
Temperature and humidity conditions closely approximating those which will exist when building is occupied shall be maintained before, during and after the application of panels.
Installation shall not be made when building is excessively cold, hot and/or damp. All panels shall be removed from plastic covered units and separated not less than 24 hours prior to installation to allow material to acclimate. For below grade applications the use of a dehumidifier and a vapor barrier is highly recommended. During installation, all panel edges must be spaced 3/16" from adjoining panels and 3/8" from all walls and partitions to allow for expansion and contraction. On runs over 50', provide 1/2" expansion joint. All panel joints must be staggered regardless of panel size. In all cases, either slab or concrete floor, the concrete must be dry prior to attachment. Comfort Base is not recommended for application in areas where moisture is present.

NOTE: Bowing of panels away from the grid side is normal prior to application.
