Ice Deck is made of Homasote structural board which is a homogenous, 100% recycled, all wood fibre material processed with
moisture-resistant ingredients, chemically treated for termite, rot and fungus protection and compressed into high density structural panels 1"
or 1-1/2" thick. Two or three plies are bonded together with a water-resistant glue under extreme pressure, trimmed to size to form Ice Deck
panels.

handle and cut to shorten conversion time. The textured underside helps reduce sliding and the squared edges assure tight alignment to help

Company, West Trenton, N.J. and installed in accordance with current Homasote instructions.
installation
Ice Temperature - Proper ice temperature should be maintained to assure that there is no free-standing water present when installing Ice
Deck Panels. Refrigeration must then be maintained at all times to eliminate adhesion of panel through alternate thawing/freezing conditions.
Butt Panels Lightly - Do not force panels tightly together. Stagger joints where practical. Wood playing surface may be applied directly over
the Ice Deck.
Covering Joints - When Ice Deck is to be used as a pedestrian surface, it is desirable to cover the joints with sealing tape to provide a
finish surface. Density of Ice Deck will adequately support folding chairs and tables.
Cutting Panels - Homasote Ice Deck is easy to cut to follow the shape of the rink. Use a fine tooth blade.
Storing Ice Deck - Care should be taken to store Ice Deck in a relatively dry environment. Be sure that the panels are stored flat to avoid
inducing warpage. |
