PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
N.C.F.R.® Homasote is a class "A" fire rated, insulating, fiberboard
that meets the Fire Hazard Classification of the Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. N.C.F.R.®
Homasote is made with 100% recycled, all wood fiber material completely impregnated
with fire retardant chemical ingredients, treated for protection against termites, rot,
fungi, and moisture absorption, and compressed into high density structural weather
resistant insulation board.
USES, APPLICATIONS
Used as a Class A fir Rated component in floor and wall systems, as carpet underlayment
and/or as sound control material. Especially formulated to conform to UL Standards for
wall shields used behind listed and rated wood stoves, as covered by UL Listing 91G7. It
is weather resistant and ideal for interior or exterior application where fire-resistant
materials are required. It is a tackable interior paneling and may be prime coated without
changing its fire Hazard Classification. It is perfect as a tackable substrate for other
fire-rated wall coverings such as vinyl and natural man-made fabrics.

Fire Rated N.C.F.R.® Homasote is relatively lightweight,
easy to work with, and handle. It can be cut, shaped and made to follow moderate bends
without cracking or splintering. It can be attached to conventional framing with nails or
by glue-nailing.
