Design Wall - Interior Panels - page 4

Product Description

DesignWall is an elegant, prefinished interior paneling, composed of Guilford of Maine FR 701® fabric laminated to NCFR Homasote recycled fiberboard. Fabric continues around long edges to back of panel. DesignWall is available in four designer colors-Quartz, Cherry Neutral, Blue Neutral and Grey Mix.

Uses

Decorative, tackable DesignWall panels are used in both residential and commercial construction. These versatile panels are ideal for a range of applications from family rooms and children's bedrooms to school rooms and business offices- anywhere the rich look of a fabric panel and/or a fully tackable wall would be appreciated.

Advantages

DesignWall panels have the unique versatility to be a finished paneling in colors to go with any decor and provide a fully tackable surface that conceals tack holes and reduces sound. DesignWall panels are environmentally safe, free of asbestos and formaldehyde additives.

Architectural Specification (short form)

All___________ as shown on drawings shall be Homasote DesignWall panels in the color - as manufactured by the Homasote Company, West Trenton, NJ, and installed in accordance with current Homasote installation instructions.

Packaging, Storage & Protection

Panels should be kept in original packages, stored in a dry place indoors or on a raised platform, protected from weather damage.

General Construction Data

Illustrated installation instructions are given in Homasote Bulletin DP-9-072-2. This bulletin details the Homasote approved installation requirements and step-by-step procedure. The following information is for product evaluation only.

Temperature and humidity conditions closely approximating those which will exist when building is occupied shall be maintained before, during and after the application of DesignWall panels. Installation shall not be made when building is excessively cold, hot and/or damp.

All DesignWall panels shall be removed from protective packaging not less than 24 hours prior to application and placed singly and vertically around walls exposed to environmental temperature and humidity conditions.

During installation, DesignWall panels must be applied leaving 1/8" expansion space between adjoining panels. Allow 1/4" spacing at floor, ceiling and around windows and door frames, etc. Framing must not exceed 16" o.c. Panel edges must be supported at all times. As with any fabric panel, care should be taken in handling panels with clean hands.

To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing to remove dust and grime is recommended. Oil or grease type spots will respond to mild solvent or dry cleaning agents. The blotting technique, without rubbing, should be sufficient to remove most spots. For general dirt or grime spots, sponging with the foam from a mild detergent or upholstery shampoo should remove the accumulated dirt and grime spot. Room temperature solution should be sufficient. Rinse well with a clean sponge to remove traces of the water base cleaning agent. The fabric will dry very quickly. Avoid excessive brushing or rubbing during cleaning practices to prevent fuzzing of the fabric surface.
