USES

Homasote Easy-ply® Roof Decking is designed for use as a structural, load-bearing decking in residential and non-residential buildings, room additions, A-frames and log homes for exposed beam construction. Easy-ply Roof Decking comes with a 6 mil pre-finished surface of a decorative white "flitter" vinyl film. By adding Thermasote® Nail Base Roof Insulation to the Easy-ply Roof Decking, insulation values up to R-32 plus can be achieved. See Sheet #RD-8-32-6. Easy-ply Roof Decking is not recommended for use over swimming pools or similar areas.

ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATION (Short Form)

All structural roof panels shown in drawing shall be_________ thick Easy-ply Roof Decking as manufactured by the Homasote Company, West Trenton, NJ, and installed in accordance with current Homasote Company instructions.

FASTENING SPECIFICATIONS

Easy-ply Roof Decking can be applied to a wood or steel framing structure. For detailed specifications refer to installation instructions sheet #RD-8-132-7.

ROOFING APPLICATION

Most types of finish roofing materials can be applied directly to Easy-ply Roof Decking including Asphalt/Fiberglass Shingles, Wood Shingles or Shakes, Roofing Tiles or Slate, Built up roofing, Single ply membranes and Metal Roofing. For detailed application specifications refer to installation instructions sheet #RD-8-132-6.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

Moisture protection is the responsibility of the contractor. Easy-ply Roof Decking must be protected from weather and/or standing water at all times. No moisture from any source should be sealed into a roof system. Roofing felts, insulation, or vapor retarders that become wet or water-laden during construction should be removed and replaced before the application of finish roofing materials. Install in a dry condition only. Follow immediately with application of roofing felt and finish roofing.

PACKAGING, STORAGE AND PROTECTION

Easy-ply Roof Decking comes to the job site in weather-resistant, plastic covered units. However, all materials should be stored at job site above ground on wooden pallets and covered by tarpaulins. Packaging material is not intended for exterior job site protection.
