Thermasote - Nail Base Roof Insulation - page 2

NAIL BASE ROOF INSULATION

®

USES

THERMASOTE® is a nail base insulation board combined with isocyanurate foam for application over Homasote Roof Decking, wood, or other structural decking to provide insulation and energy conservation. It is particularly useful as roof insulation in exposed beam systems where the most efficient location of this insulation is above the structural deck, and the use of asphalt, fiberglass or wood shingles, slate or tile require that they be installed over a nail base substrate.

Thermasote is Underwriters Laboratories Classified, as listed in Report #R13614, as a Shingle Decking Accessory for Class A, B, or C shingles.

What You Should Know About R-Values

The charts shown in this brochure indicate the R-value of the insulation. R means resistance to heat flow. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. Compare insulation R-values before you buy.

There are other factors to consider. The amount of insulation you need depends mainly on the climate you live in. Also, your fuel savings from insulation will depend upon the climate, the type and size of your building, the amount of insulation already in your building, and your fuel use patterns. If you buy too much insulation, it will cost you more than what you'll save on fuel.

To get the marked R-value, it is essential that this insulation be installed properly.
