Honeywell Inc. Systems & Services Systems & Services - Excel Access Control/SPS System - Page 22

|
Exceptional Control, Operation and Reporting
Honeywell's Excel Access Control/SPS System redefines building security. The graphical interface allows the operator to get accurate
realtime or historical "views" of the building and its occupants.
Area-defined access control subdivides a building into areas of security that are illustrated on the display. This allows the operator to
visualize access information and respond more quickly to events.
Who is in the area? allows the operator to query and view the list of cardholders in the selected area.
Where is the cardholder? indicates a cardholder's current location and permits the operator to retrace the path taken.
Spreadsheet format for presenting and editing cardholder information makes the system database easy to use and maintain.
System search, sort and match commands allow the operator to quickly obtain information from the relational database. For
example: the operator can "zoom in" on a subset of the database to determine all supervisors working in the accounting department.
Reporting capabilities provide management with a useful tool for monitoring operator activities, selected cardholder movement and
system transactions.
Flexible System Configuration and Control
Access control schedules, cardholder information and area restrictions can be user-selected to fit unique facility requirements.
- Two-person rule ensures access is granted to or from a designated area only if two or more cardholders are present.
- Visitor card restricts access to certain areas without a cardholder escort.
- Duress alarm allows a cardholder who is in distress to use a keypad or keypad card reader and a special access code to alert the
system operator.
- Supervisor rule ensures a supervisor is always present whenever a sensitive area is occupied by non-supervisors.
- Anti-passback prevents two individuals from gaining access to an area by using the same card.
- Multiple reader options include all major card technologies: magnetic stripe, barrium ferrite, Weigand and proximity, as well as
keypad interface for additional security.
- Growth path to other building management functions such as fire alarm, security, building controls, and energy management.
Reliable Operation
System integrity is maintained by a distributed database capable of full standalone operation.
- Distributed intelligent controllers have a resident database enabling them to remain functional if communication with the central
system is lost.
- Standalone operation modes can be selected to operate during a loss of communiation with the central system. Mode options
include complete lockout, complete access or selected cardholder access.
- Historical data backup ensures data is protected. Transactions are stored at the remote panel and sent to the central system once
communication is restored.

Who's in the area? When operators select an "area", the system instantly displays a list of all occupants. |

Cardholder information - Updating and modifying the cardholder database is easy using a simple spreadsheet format.
|

Scheduling - Individually assignable schedules allow for maximum user flexibility.
