Flexible Installation and Control
A single Excel FS90 Controller provides centralized fire alarm
monitoring and control, with the exact system configuration and
operations stored in non-volatile memory. The controller is
configured to fit the specific needs of the facility for minimum
installation and operating cost, using two-wire or fault-tolerant
initating and indicating circuits.

Excel FS90 Controller Interior
- Modular plug-in function boards determine system capacity
and capabilities to ensure quick installation and rapid
response to last-minute changes on the job site.
On-site software modifications can accommodate many
functional changes without special tools, equipment or rewiring.
Software control of cross-zoning, time delay and selective
coding provides convenient, built-in system control flexibility,
without the delay or costs of rewiring or technical assistance.
Design flexibility allows intermixing of conventional zones
and intelligent sensor loops in one controller.

Reliable System Supervision
In addition to continuous systems supervision, monitoring functions
provide confidence in the system's reliability.
- Alarm verification, a time interval during which the system
verifies an alarm occurrence, virtually eliminates nuisance
alarms.
- Battery supervision module not only monitors battery
presence, but also indicates reserve capacity available to
power the system in the event of primary power loss.
Performance
The Excel FS90 Controller operates simply and economically. It is
available with a controller-mounted Command Center that provides
an easy-to-understand, comprehensive presentation of system
conditions and activity.
- Command Center provides alarm and trouble message
display and print-out as well as simple keypad control of
everyday operations.
- System status indication by time and location is provided in
printer logs, including All Points and Alarm Summary.

- Individual zone disconnect permits isolation, testing,
modification and reenabling of an individual zone without
shutting down the rest of the system.
Alarm and trouble indication on both initiating and indicating
circuits isolates problems by zone to reduce troubleshooting
time.
