ActiveX Scripting

ActiveX scripting in XSM offers the ability to attach Visual Basic scripts to individual elements on Excel Security Manager displays. This can be used to create very powerful displays which provide additional information when objects are selected, hide information that may not be currently relevant, and animate display elements using movement, color and shapes. It can also be used to pop-up dialog boxes to prompt operators or confirm actions.

Visual Basic scripts are edited through the Excel Security Manager tool, Display Builder. It is possible to use scripts to control a variety of functions including:
  • Moving objects across the screen
  • Changing the size and position of an object
  • Controlling whether an object is visible or invisible
  • Controlling the characteristics of an object such as line color, fill color, blinking and line style
  • Pop-up dialog boxes for additional information or operator confirmation

Scripts may be initiated though a variety of events including:

  • Page call-up
  • Operator initiated change
  • Alarm event
  • Mouse click
  • Activation of a timer

Scripting provides you with the ability to enhance your displays using a range of specialized functions in order to make these displays easier and more informative for operators to use.

Station E-mail
The incorporation of ActiveX technologies has made some additional new features available in Excel Security Manager. This includes Station E-mail, which is the ability of operators to e-mail each other from within their XSM operator station. This e-mail function may be operated as a stand alone or incorporated into your company’s standard e-mail system. (Feature not compatible with Lotus CC Mail)

FS90 Plus DeltaNet Access Controller Interface
In keeping with Honeywell’s dedication to providing legacy customers of Honeywell based products a migration strategy to new technology, the FS90 Plus DeltaNet Access Controller (DAC) interface is available with the R630. This provides FS90 Plus DAC customers a powerful solution that capitalizes on their existing investments in cards and controllers.

The R630 will require additional resources in order to take advantage of its many new features. New minimum PC Server and Client configurations are required. The suggested minimum requirements for PCs are as follows:
