Horner Flooring Co. Specifiers Product Guide 1998 Fixed Systems
|
STA-LOC SYSTEMS Sta-Loc
Systems feature steel channels securely fastened to the concrete slab with flathead
anchors. Special heavy-duty steel clips placed into the channels fit between the tongue
and groove of adjacent flooring strips, locking the hard maple together, minimizing
expansion. Sta-Loc maple is available in 25/32" or 33/32" thicknesses.
The Sta-Lock I System combines most features of the Sta-Loc System
with a clip which fits into the groove of the 27/32" thick flooring strips and up
tightly against the edge of the adjoining strip.
The Sta-Loc II System clip fits into a specially-milled groove under
the tongue and fits up tightly to the face of the adjoining strip, providing maximum
strength. Sta-Loc II is available only in the 33/32" thickness.

STA-FAST SYSTEM A channel
floor system with the economy of a nail-down floor, the Horner Sta-Fast System is a
low-cost alternative to a traditional channel system. The Sta-Fast Floor incorporates a
special nailing strip consisting of a hardwood core in a metal channel. The flooring is
nailed directly into the strip with barbed cleats, eliminating the need for channel clips.

- Subfloor: Horner "Grooved Foam" resilient
underlayment, 5/8" x 4' x 150' closed-cell polyethylene foam, with factory-channeled
grooves.
- STA-FAST Nailing Strips: 3/8" treated hardwood plywood in
a 22-gauge galvanized steel channel.
- Wall Base: 3" x 4" Ventcove heavy duty molded,
vented vinyl cove base with pre-molded outside corners and mitered inside corners.
SLAB DEPRESSION

FIXED SLEEPER SYSTEM Horner's Fixed Sleeper Floor System is the oldest proven maple sports
flooring system available, and is designed for high performance, resiliency, and
reliability. 2" x 4" (nominal) sleepers are anchored to a concrete slab, and a
1" x 6" (nominal) subfloor is laid at an angle on top of the sleepers. This
arrangement allows for uniform air circulation, reducing the possibility of bulking and
cupping brought on by excessive moisture buildup.
MATERIALS - FIXED SLEEPER SYSTEM
- Finish Flooring: 33/32" or 25/32" thick x 2
1/4" or 1 1/2" wide, continuous tongue and groove and end-matched Horner
Northern Hard Maple, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative if so specified.
- Sleepers: 2" x 4" (nominal), fir,spruce, or hemlock,
S4S, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative.
