HORNER

    THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SYSTEMS

THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SYSTEM

The most economical of all cushioned flooring systems. As with other cushioned systems, the cushioning provides a level of shock absorption that helps reduce leg fatigue and injury.

MATERIALS - THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SYSTEM

  1. Finish Flooring: 25/32" or 33/32" thick x 1º" or 2 1/4" wide, continuous tongue and groove and end-matched Horner Northern Hard Maple, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative if so specified.
  2. SLEEPERS: Thrust-A-Cushion Sleepers, 2" x 3" x 4' (nominal) SPF regular or R-1, kiln dried and treated with WOODLIFE F preservative, and padded with either 3/8" or 5/8" Thrust-A-Cushion or 7/16" or 3/4" SAFE™ pads. OPTION: Horner R-I sleepers notched to accept Horner R-I galvanized retainer or Horner R-II sleepers predrilled to accept a retaining pin, when so specified.
  3. Wall Base: 3" x 4' Ventcove heavy duty molded, vented vinyl base with premolded outside corners and mitered inside corners.

SLAB DEPRESSION

  • Concrete slab depression when using 3/8" Thrust-A-Cushion pads shall be 2 5/8" for 25/32" thick flooring, and 2 7/8" for 33/32" thick flooring. For 7/16" pads add 1/16", 58" pads add 1/4", and for 3/4" pads add 3/8" to slab depression.

THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SUBFLOOR SYSTEM

The Thrust-A-Cushion Sleeper Subfloor System has the same cushioned sleepers, plus a 15/32" sheathing plywood surface nailed on top of the sleepers to provide added stability and strength. The subfloor helps eliminate "dead spots".

MATERIALS - THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SUBFLOOR SYSTEM

  1. Finish Flooring: 25/32" or 33/32" thick x 1 1/2" or 2 1/4" wide, continuous tongue and groove and end-matched Horner Northern Maple, grade marked and stamped as manufactured by Horner Flooring company, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative if so specified.
  2. Subfloor: 15/32" x 4' x 8' APA-rated sheathing plywood, exposure 1, or 7/16" OSB.
  3. Sleepers: THRUST-A-CUSHION Sleepers, 2" x 3" x 4' (nominal) SPF, kiln dried, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative, and padded with either 3/8" or 5/8" Thrust-A-Cushion pads, or 7/16" or 3/4" SAFE™ pads. Optional Horner R-I sleepers notched to accept Horner R-I galvanized retainer or Horner R-II sleepers redrilled to accept a retaining pin, when so specified.
  4. Wall Base: 3" x 4" Venture heavy duty molded, vented vinyl base with remolded outside corners and mitered inside corners.

THRUST-A-CUSHION PANEL SYSTEM

The Thrust-A-Cushion Panel System consists of two layers of sheathing plywood. The bottom plywood layer is cushioned, with pads spaced 12" o.c.. The Thrust-A-Cushion Panel System provides uniform resiliency with maximum quietness and strength when 1/4" closed-cell foam is substituted for the pads.
