THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SYSTEM The most economical of all cushioned flooring systems. As with other
cushioned systems, the cushioning provides a level of shock absorption that helps reduce
leg fatigue and injury.
MATERIALS - THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SYSTEM
- Finish Flooring: 25/32" or 33/32" thick x 1º"
or 2 1/4" wide, continuous tongue and groove and end-matched Horner Northern Hard
Maple, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative if so specified.
- SLEEPERS: Thrust-A-Cushion Sleepers, 2" x 3" x 4'
(nominal) SPF regular or R-1, kiln dried and treated with WOODLIFE F preservative, and
padded with either 3/8" or 5/8" Thrust-A-Cushion or 7/16" or 3/4"
SAFE pads. OPTION: Horner R-I sleepers notched to accept Horner R-I galvanized
retainer or Horner R-II sleepers predrilled to accept a retaining pin, when so specified.
- Wall Base: 3" x 4' Ventcove heavy duty molded, vented
vinyl base with premolded outside corners and mitered inside corners.
SLAB DEPRESSION
- Concrete slab depression when using 3/8" Thrust-A-Cushion pads
shall be 2 5/8" for 25/32" thick flooring, and 2 7/8" for 33/32" thick
flooring. For 7/16" pads add 1/16", 58" pads add 1/4", and for
3/4" pads add 3/8" to slab depression.

THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SUBFLOOR SYSTEM The Thrust-A-Cushion Sleeper Subfloor System has the same cushioned sleepers,
plus a 15/32" sheathing plywood surface nailed on top of the sleepers to provide
added stability and strength. The subfloor helps eliminate "dead spots".
MATERIALS - THRUST-A-CUSHION SLEEPER SUBFLOOR SYSTEM
- Finish Flooring: 25/32" or 33/32" thick x 1
1/2" or 2 1/4" wide, continuous tongue and groove and end-matched Horner
Northern Maple, grade marked and stamped as manufactured by Horner Flooring company,
treated with WOODLIFE F preservative if so specified.
- Subfloor: 15/32" x 4' x 8' APA-rated sheathing plywood,
exposure 1, or 7/16" OSB.
- Sleepers: THRUST-A-CUSHION Sleepers, 2" x 3" x 4'
(nominal) SPF, kiln dried, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative, and padded with either
3/8" or 5/8" Thrust-A-Cushion pads, or 7/16" or 3/4" SAFE pads.
Optional Horner R-I sleepers notched to accept Horner R-I galvanized retainer or Horner
R-II sleepers redrilled to accept a retaining pin, when so specified.
- Wall Base: 3" x 4" Venture heavy duty molded, vented
vinyl base with remolded outside corners and mitered inside corners.
SLAB DEPRESSION
- Concrete slab depression for 3/8" pads shall be 3 1/8" for
25/32" thick or 3 3/8" for 33/32" thick flooring. For 7/16" pads add
1/16", for 5/8" pads add 1/4" and for 3/4" pads add 3/8" to
depression.

THRUST-A-CUSHION PANEL SYSTEM The Thrust-A-Cushion Panel System consists of two layers of sheathing
plywood. The bottom plywood layer is cushioned, with pads spaced 12" o.c.. The
Thrust-A-Cushion Panel System provides uniform resiliency with maximum quietness and
strength when 1/4" closed-cell foam is substituted for the pads.
MATERIALS - THRUST-A-CUSHION PANEL SYSTEM
- Finish Flooring: 25/32" or 33/32" thick x 1
1/2" or 2 1/4" wide, continuous tongue and groove and end-matched Horner
Northern Hard Maple, treated with WOODLIFE F preservative, if so specified. OPTION: Horner
Multisport, 5/16" or 11/16" thick Second and better Grade.
- Cushion Pads: 3/8" x 2 1/4" x 3" or 5/8" x 2
1/4" x 3" Thrust-A-Cushion pads. 1/4" or 1/2" closed cell polyethylene
foam may be substituted for Thrust-A-Cushion pads.
- Subfloor: 15/32" x 4' x 8' APA-rated sheathing plywood, exposure
1, or 7/16" OSB.
- Wall Base: 3" x 4" Ventcove heavy duty molded, vented vinyl
base with premolded outside corners and mitered inside corners.
SLAB DEPRESSION
- Concrete slab depression for 3/8" pads shall be 2 1/8" for
25/32" thick flooring or 2 3/8" for 33/32" thick flooring. For 7/16"
pads add 1/4", for 5/8" pads add 1/4", and for 3/4" pads add 3/8"
to slab depression. For MultiSport flooring, subtract 1/4" from depression.
- If foam is used, subtract 1/8" from depression.
