Swing Door Sensing Systems
Vista Sensing System

Horton Automatics offers a base sensor system to provide activation and presence detection for swinging and folding doors, with options for special needs.

Base System

  • The Wave™ is a microwave motion sensor used to activate the door. See page 18 for more sensor information.
  • The T-scan sensor is a threshold light curtain that is always active provides protection for the pedestrian going through the door opening.
  • A safety sensor that uses active infrared technology and is driven by a microprocessor covers the door’s swing area. Sensor is mounted on the swing side of the header. It scans the safety zone (swing door area) and prevents the door from opening when the presence of a person in its safety zone (door’s swing area) is detected. The system also works as a hold-open device to hold the door fully open until traffic clears.

Optional Door Mounted Sensor

A VistaStop sensor can be added to the base system. It uses active infrared technology so the sensor is insensitive to the floor. The sensor is mounted on the top of the door panel.

Mounted on the safety side, it will stop and hold, or slow down the door if it senses a person or object in the swing path during the opening cycle.

Guide Rails

ANSI A156.10 Standard requires two guide rails on the swing side of power operated swing doors for openings used by the general public if a wall or barrier is not there.

Aluminum guide rails 1/2"x11/2" (13x38) are solid bar, polished or anodized finish.

Stainless steel 17/8" (48) tube guide rails have a polished finish.

Panel options – expanded aluminum mesh or solid acrylic PVC composition.

Guide rail dividers are aluminum and can be provided with or without a photoelectric beam.
