Safety: A Step Ahead

In addition to the safety features common to all Horton Automatics revolving doors, Grand revolving doors offer this exclusive array:

  • Horton's Vista™ safety sensing system located on the forward face of a wing, turns off the operator and stops or slows the door to minimize contact when an object is within 6"–12" (152–305). A solid-state voice announcer warns users to step forward.
  • FootGuard™ is a protective edge applied to the bottom rail of each wing that cushions foot contact and stops the door.
  • Wing-position sensors stop door rotation when any wing is moved off-center. An optional storm-switch can temporarily deactivate wing position sensors during storm conditions.
  • Electrically sensitive cushioned wall edges initiate emergency stop on contact with an obstacle but ignore actuations of less than one-quarter second.
  • Back Pressure Sensing Circuit initiates an emergency five-second stop when the door wings encounter an obstacle that creates a back pressure in excess of the adjustable limit of 15–25 pounds (66-110 N). During the stop, the door wing can be moved forward or backward. The door restarts at slow speed and smoothly accelerates to normal speed.
  • Remote control console can control all functions including lighting.
