Square Cutoff Specification Grade
The compact MSS Series Magnuspec™ is a versatile luminaire for many lighting applications. The 16" square
housing accommodates a wide range of optical systems allowing maximized lighting utilization. A removable
ballast Powr-Panl® provides ease of installation and maintenance. Couple the excellent photometric capability
with four mounting arrangements and MSS Magnuspec becomes a key element in many of your lighting
designs.
Housing
- Rugged, one-piece aluminum, formed and welded for long term weather protection. An internal
galvanized steel end support adds rigidity for mounting
- Finish coat of Lektrocote® powder, minimum 2 mils. thick and sealed to aluminum at 400°F for lasting
color and 4H pencil hardness
Lens/Door Assembly
- Lenses are secured in a mitered extruded aluminum frame with solid corner key supports
- Four springloaded, tool free cast latches allow door opening from either end for quick maintenance
- Lenses are sealed to housing with a high quality gasket
- Lenses are tempered, high impact resistant glass on flat lens units. Drop refractors and a Type V
distribution are offered in acrylic and polycarbonate
Powr-Panl®
- Ballast components mounted to a galvanized steel removable panel with electrical quick connects for
power and socket.
- Ballasts are H.P.F. 180°C insulated with -20°F (-40°F HPS) starting. 60 Hz standard — 50 Hz available.
Listings
- All units are UL listed 1572 for wet locations and CSA-NRTL/C certified for outdoor use. IP suitability
IP55.
Optical
- Reflector systems are made from multi-faceted segmented aluminum panels, factory set in a tool
- free rotatable assembly
- Five flat glass optics are available for maximum cutoff distribution utilization: Type I, III, IV, V sq. from
horizontal lamp and V sq. vertical lamp
- Two drop refractors are available producing a Type V distribution: acrylic and polycarbonate
- All units have medium base pulse rated porcelain sockets and are shipped less lamp
Mounting
- Arm mount allows use of multiple fixtures per pole for higher lighting level
- Yoke mount features 1 1/2" square aluminum supports for post top applications on 2 3/8 - 3" OD tenons
- Ceiling mount comes complete with instructions for surface attachment
- Garage mount is specifically designed for parking garages with prewired wet location cord and
adjustable mounting supports

Note: Catalog numbers are arm mount housings, Quad-Tap® ballast and bronze finish.
For other mountings change A to C - Ceiling, Y - Yoke Post-Top, G - Garage.
For photometric distribution replace X with I - Type I, P - Type III, T - Forward Throw, W - Type V Horizontal, V - Type V Vertical, A - Drop acrylic Type V and
L - drop polycarbonate type V.
For other voltage change Quad-Tap 120/208/240/277V 8 to 5 for 480V, 6 for Tri-Tap® 120/277/347V.
For other finishes replace 1 with 2 - Black, 3 - White, 6 - Beige, 7 - Forest Green, 8 - Terra Cotta, 9 - Teal, B - Blue, R - Red, G - Goldenrod, M - Mauve, O -
