Welcome to the ICA Sale's and Service area. This page is devoted to providing more in-depth information on the Tube System® and the Energy Miser® insulation systems. Have questions? Call us or email us at:  sales@insulcorp.com

Energy Miser® Insulated Ceiling System
Our Premier System for Superior Efficiency.

With the Energy Miser® System, the insulation is dropped so that all the structural framing (main beams),is covered. This assures the insulation will retain it's full R-value, unlike an over-the-purlin system that loses it's R-value when the insulation is compressed between the roof panels and the purlins. The end result is a very neat, finished appearance that is virtually maintenance free. This system offers ventilation options that eliminate the possibility of condensation.

Tube System® Insulation
When Ventilation Is Not Necessary.
The Tube System® Insulation is installed directly under the existing purlins. This provides all the benefits of added insulation while creating an attractive finished ceiling.

U-values listed above were obtained by ASTM C236 guarded hot box testing; typical industry test procedures and configurations were used. These tested U-values may exceed calculated U-values obtained by adding the reciprocals of listed R-values.

Energy Miser® Insulated Ceiling System Patent #'s: 5,564,250 and 5,357,722

Common Features Of Both Systems
The Energy Miser® lnsulated Ceiling System and The Tube System® Insulation are both installed so all purlins are completely insulated, thereby creating an integral vapor barrier across the roof and walls. A large-scale section of the system, including building structure and roof, was exposed 3 weeks to inside conditions of 50% relative humidity at 7OF and outside temperatures of -5F to -18F. No visible moisture was noted in the insulation, or on structural components of the test assembly. When designing the Energy Miser® Insulated Ceiling System or The Tube System® Insulation for your metal building, determine design relative humidity as a function of maximum interior temperature and lowest outside temperature.

The Energy Miser® Insulated Ceiling System and Tube System® Insulation are supplied with necessary attachment hardware. The roof system includes white enameled (or galvanized for high moisture applications) roller tubes for faced insulation. Rollers are secured to purlins by means of clips: "Z" clips for Z-purlins, "C" clips for C-purlins, B-clips for flat flanged bar joists. The insulation is pulled over the rollers, which are clipped to every other purlin (not to exceed 15'o.c.). Termination bar and self drilling screws secure insulation at eaves, and at ridge purlins where necessary. If thermal spacer blocks of 1" extruded polystyrene are needed at compression points in the System, they are contractor-supplied. Nylon bushings in the ends of the tubes ensure they cannot puncture the insulation system.
