 Integrated Door & Hardware
Solutions (IDHS), is an affiliate of Weber Construction Products Group (www.weberproducts.com), one of the most respected
and successful suppliers and consultants to the Door and Hardware Industry in North
America. IDHS represents the leading manufactures of Door Hardware, Steel/Wood Doors &
Frames, Toilet Accessories, Lockers, Electronic Access Control, Operable Walls, Emergency
Generators, and a national distributor of D.O.S. (Door Opening Systems) products.
IDHS offers a unique concept, which
incorporates the supply and on-site installation of our door and hardware products. The
conventional method of "supply only" of product to the jobsite by the
distributor for installation by other trades causes a number of headaches for both the
owner and the Project Manager. Coordination of deliveries and availability of trades'
people is an on-going problem for the Project Manager. In addition to this, the Project
Manager is faced with overseeing the installers and handling all requests for parts,
preparations, delivery calls and changes to the job involving several parties. Doors and
hardware usually account for a very small percentage of the project value (approximately
2%) and yet can amount to a considerable amount of time spent by the Project Manager that
would have been better utilized elsewhere.
The owner is also faced with the
hardship of accepting their building with doors and hardware that have already been used
by trades' people for months during the construction process. Add to this the possibility
that many products have not been installed correctly and we are now faced with a long list
of items that must be resolved between the supplier, installer and Project Manager (all
this over doors and hardware!).
Our proposal is the ultimate
solution to both the owner and the Project Manager. The owner benefits by receiving
exactly what they have paid for; brand new doors and hardware that function for their
staff and customers the way they are intended. The Project Manager benefits by having the
ability to concentrate their efforts on other elements of construction and not having to
deal with coordination and installation problems for doors and hardware.
Our method to achieve this is as
follows:
- Hollow metal and/or wood frames
are fabricated and delivered to site to be installed and painted by other trades' people.
- We pre-finish all hollow metal
doors to the color desired by the owner, the finish produced in this controlled
environment is superior to the painting performed on site.
- We pre-install most of the
hardware for the project inclusive of all hardware on hollow metal doors and pre-finished
wood doors in our own facility which produces a more accurate installation as well as
saving time moving parts and pieces from door to door on site (and losses).
- Each door is shrink-wrapped
(with the hardware installed) for protection of the finish and hardware during handling.
We provide labor (Union or
Non-Union) on site to complete the installation of doors and associated hardware (this is
usually arranged to be completed towards the end of the project) including proper testing
to ensure the owner and Project Manager of proper operation of the doors and hardware. The
doors and hardware are left with the shrink-wrap still on the doors in order that when the
owner accepts their building the doors and hardware are, in fact, brand new. The product
has not been scratched or abused during the construction period. In addition to the above,
our company is staffed with experienced personnel, including Architectural Hardware
Consultants and a state of the art computer system designed exclusively for the Door and
Hardware Industry. Most importantly, we inventory a balanced supply of material to meet
your needs.
We trust Integrated Door and
Hardware Solutions (IDHS) will become one of your suppliers and assure the best
competitive pricing and our commitment to serve you.
