| #15 ROOFGRIP
STEEL, WOOD AND STRUCTURAL CONCRETE DECK FASTENING PRODUCT REPORT NO. 90704
Installation Guidelines
 |
An Accudrive XL PLUS or a
standard screwgun with a disengaging clutch should be used to install #15 Roofgrip. The
screwgun should have a range of 1,800-2,500 RPM. The screwgun should also have a minimum
current rating of 4 amps. |
 |
The nosepiece of the screwgun
should be adjusted so the clutch disengages when the fastener is fully and properly
seated. |
 |
Fasteners should be spaced using
a pattern specified by the insulation or roof cover manufacturer. |
 |
The fastener must penetrate the
metal deck a minimum of 3/4". |
 |
The fastener is fully seated
when the head is tight against the metal plate, or snaps into the GearLok locking plastic
plate. The fastener should not be overdriven as to cause the plate surface to deflect more
than 1/16". |
 |
Overdriven fasteners will
significantly reduce fastener and plate performance and/or strip the deck. Underdriven
fasteners will not distribute the load over the plate properly. |
Note: For structural concrete
applications when using #15 Roofgrip, the following additional guidelines should be
adhered to:
 |
Pre-drill a 7/32" ANSI
pilot hole in the concrete using a hammerdrill or rotary hammer. |
 |
Hole should be at least
1/2" deeper than the required embedment. |
 |
Seat #15 Roofgrip fasteners
using a standard variable speed screwgun or hammerdrill. |
 |
Minimum required embedment in
concrete is 1". |
 |
Always use a rotary hammer when
drilling hollow block. |
