FesCant Plus Cant Strip
Tapered Fesco Edge Strip

Description
FesCant Plus Cant Strip
FesCant Plus Cant Strip is manufactured from JM Cant Board, a high density,
laminated board made of high strength fibers and expanded perlite. FesCant Plus Cant
Strips are fabricated into many different cant sizes to meet the needs of the project. The
base board that FesCant Plus Cant Strip is manufactured from meets the material
requirements of the ½" (13 mm) perlite board in ASTM C 728.
Tapered Fesco Edge Strip
Tapered Fesco Edge Strip is manufactured from JM Fesco Board, which is composed
of expanded perlite, a volcanic ore, and blended with selected binders and fibers.
Tapered Fesco Edge Strips are available in standard sizes to meet special needs. The
base board that Tapered Fesco Edge Strip is manufactured from meets the material
requirements of the 3/4" (19 mm) perlite board in ASTM C 728.
Use
FesCant Plus Cant Strips provide an excellent way to transition from the deck to the
wall of the roof. Because of its high perlite content, FesCant Plus Cant Strip offers far
greater fire resistance than conventional wood fiber materials. This feature is important
to all roofs, but especially applicable to heat weldable modified bitumen systems and
flashing details.
Tapered Fesco Edge Strips are good for transitioning from membrane to nailer or
transitioning from a Tapered Fesco, Tapered E’NRG’Y 2 or Tapered Fesco Foam
panel to the roof level to help promote positive drainage. Because of its perlite content,
Tapered Fesco Edge Strips offer far greater fire resistance than conventional wood
fiber materials.
Both FesCant Plus Cant Strips and Tapered Fesco Edge Strips comply with the
Environmental Protection Agency Regulation 40 CFR Part 248, "Guideline for Federal
Procurement of Building Insulation Products Containing Recovered Materials", as a
recycled product approved for use on any project using federal funds. FesCant Plus
Cant Strips have at least 35% post-consumer recycled content, and Tapered Fesco
Edge Strips have at least 25% post-consumer recycled content.
Advantages
- Excellent fire resistance
- Dimensional stability
- Strength and handleability
- Meets RCRA requirements for recycled content

polyisocyanurate foam core bonded in the foaming process to universal fiber glass
reinforced facers. Tapered E’NRG’Y 2 is designed for direct application to steel and
other roof decks to promote positive drainage. Tapered E’NRG’Y 2 meets the
material requirements of ASTMC 1289 and Federal Specification HH-I-1972/Gen and
HH-I-1972/2. Tapered E’NRG’Y 2 is also available as pre-cut miters and pre-cut
crickets.
Use
Tapered E’NRG’Y 2 provides high thermal insulation value over metal, nailable, and
non-nailable roof decks in built-up, modified bitumen and single ply membrane roofing
systems. It may be applied using hot bitumen, cold adhesives or mechanical fasteners.
The universal facer on the top and bottom side provide a suitable surface for
mechanical attachment to a structural deck as well as a suitable surface to apply hot
asphalt or cold adhesive. Tapered E’NRG’Y 2 is the ideal insulation for both new
construction and reroofing where ponding water or positive slope is a concern. Tapered
E’NRG’Y 2 has been rated in FM 1A-60 and 1A-90 fire and wind-resistant systems
for BUR, modified bitumen and single ply systems in specific constructions. It has been
classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. as an approved roof insulation in many
Class A roof constructions and Roof/Ceiling hourly fire-rated assemblies. It also has
been classified by Underwriters Laboratories Canada. JM supports NRCA Bulletin #9
in recommending that a cover board of Fesco Board, Fiber Glass Roof Insulation of ½"
Retro-Fit Board be installed over foam insulations in hot membrane systems.
Advantages
- High thermal efficiency
- Universal facer that is compatible with BUR, modified bitumen and single ply
membrane systems
