E'NRG'Y 2 Roof Insulation

Underwriters Laboratories

E’NRG’Y 2 is classified by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL) and Underwriters Laboratories Canada as an approved insulation for numerous Class A roof constructions. Contact JM for details regarding specific approvals.

E’NRG’Y 2 is listed by UL for use in Construction Numbers 76, 120, 123 and 192. See the current UL Roofing Materials and Systems Directory.

UL Fire-Rated Assemblies

E’NRG’Y 2 is listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. for use in fire-rated assembly design numbers P225, P230, P259, P508, P510, P514, P519, P701, P710, P713, P717, P718, P719, P720, P722, P723, P724, P727, P728, P729, P730, P732, P734, P735, P739, P801, P814, P815, P818, P819, P827 and P828. See the current UL Fire Resistance Directory.

Other Approvals

E’NRG’Y 2 complies with the requirements of ASTM C 1289 and CCMC 12786-R. E’NRG’Y 2 has been approved by numerous municipalities including Dade County, FL and California State Insulation Quality Standards and Title 25 Foam Flammability Criteria. E’NRG’Y 2 also meets the requirements of BOCA, ICBO, SBCCI and others.

Because this insulation complies with both FM 4450 and 4470 when tested in roof membrane assemblies, and is listed as a FM Class 1 roof insulation, there is no requirement for the ½" (13 mm) gypsum wallboard or equivalent thermal barrier," when applied in steel deck roofing applications to meet code requirements (e.g., SBCCI, BOCA, ICBO, etc.). The local code official does have final discretion for approval of roof assemblies. Fire-rated roof/ceiling assemblies ("P" designs) may require the use of a thermal barrier.

Federal Specifications

E’NRG’Y 2 meets the physical property requirements specified in Federal Specification HH-I-1972/Gen and HH-I-1972/2.

JM insulation products must be protected from open flame and kept dry at all times. Install only as much insulation as can be covered the same day by completed roof covering material. JM will not be responsible for specific building and roof design by others, for deficiencies in construction or workmanship, for dangerous conditions on the job site or for improper storage and handling.Technical specifications as shown in this literature are intended to be used as general guidelines only.
Consult JM for detailed specifications.
