CD-10
Fasteners and Plates |
Description
CD-10 Fasteners are a .215" (5.5 mm)
split-shank, hammer-in,
non-threaded fastener with a CR-10 coating, meeting FM-4470 corrosion requirements. CD-10
has a flat head with a .435" (11 mm) diameter, and a 45° diamond starter point. The
shank has a specially designed split bulb to provide maximum holding strength into a structural concrete substrate.
Stress Plates. CD-10 Metal Plate is a
3" (76 mm) round, Galvalume
metal plate. The plastic plate for roof insulation is a 3" (76 mm) round, high-strength polypropylene.
Use
CD-10 Fasteners and Plates are designed for the
installation of roof
insulation
to structural concrete roof decks. The fastener and plate system provides positive attachment and resistance to up-lift
forces.
Advantages
- CD-10 may be included within the Johns Manville (JM) Roofing Systems Guarantees when used with JM Roof
Insulation. CD-10 is Factory Mutual and Dade County
Approved.
- The CR-10 coating exceeds the corrosion resistance requirements of
Factory Mutual Specification #4470
- High performance split-bulb shank

Application
A pilot hole should be drilled through the insulation into
the
concrete deck using a
standard hammerdrill or rotary hammer. The hole should be drilled a minimum of ½ "
(13 mm) deeper than the required
embedment of the CD-10 anchors.
A minimum 2 lb. (0.91 kg) sledge hammer should then be used
to
drive the CD-10 anchor
through the plate and insulation and into the concrete deck. Minimum required embedment of
the CD-10 anchors is 1" (25 mm) in the concrete. Care must be exercised not to overdrive the fastener, causing damage to
the insulation.
Sizes
Available in a wide range of lengths from 2" (51 mm)
for insulation
up to 1" (25
mm) in thickness to 9" (229 mm) in length for insulation up to 8" (203 mm) thick.
Packaged in 500 fasteners per carton and 1000 plates per
carton.
Note: Fasteners and plates must be ordered
separately.
