SPECIFICATIONS
All aluminum alloys shall comply with metallurgical and
mechanical properties set forth in the Aluminum Association Standards.
SHAFT: The shaft shall be extruded from
all new seamless 6063 or 6061 alloy aluminum tubing. Lexington square shafts shall be
supplied with a cast aluminum square top closure when the shafts are to be drilled for
side mounting of luminaires. Lexington square straight shafts with a satin finish shall be
longitudinally polished with a fine grain aluminum oxide cloths, resulting in a high
quality brushed finish. After finishing, each standard shall be fully tire wrapped with
neutral PH krinkle/kraft paper for protection in shipment.
ANCHOR BASE: The anchor base shall be a
permanent mold casting from A356 alloy aluminum. The shaft shall be inserted into the base
casting and joined by a continuous circumferential weld at the outside top and inside
bottom of the anchor base. The assembly shall be heat treated to a T6 temper after all
structural welding has been completed. The anchor bolt recesses in the anchor base casting
shall be flush covered by four tamper resistant aluminum nut cover disks.
HANDHOLES: All square standards shall
include a peripherally reinforced surface-mounted covered handhole centered 18" above
the bottom of the standard. The opening shall be rectangular in shape with the major
dimensions along the vertical axis. The opening in the 4" square standards shall be
2" x 4" and the 5" and 6" square standards shall be 2-1/2" x
4". Handholes with larger openings may be available as an option.
ANCHOR BOLTS: Each anchor base shall
include four steel hot dip galvanized anchor bolts each with two nuts, two flat washers,
and one lock washer sized to match the anchor bolt. A schedule of bolt sizes follows.
SPECIAL FINISHES : Natural anodize,
duranodic, or painted finishes may be specified as an addition to the standard satin
finish. All aluminum parts and accessories shall receive a finish similar to that
specified.
NOTE: Standard models ending with
"Y4" cannot be supplied with an anodized or duranodic finish. They must be satin
or painted. |
