The Kinetics® Model FLM Liftslab Floating
Floor System is primarily specified for areas with regular perimeter contours, and light
or uniform imposed loading. The system uses Model FLM Isolation Mounts which are placed 2
to 4 feet on center each way on top of bond breaker polyethylene which has been laid on
the structural floor. Reinforcing bars are then installed across rows of isolators and the
concrete is poured. After curing, the slab is raised to operating height using built-in
jack screws. As a final operation, the jack holes are grouted and the perimeter sealed.
The Model FLM Isolation Mount consists of a cast
housing with a 2 inch thick high density precompressed fiber glass or neoprene isolation
pad, leveling screw, and support lugs for attachment to the reinforcing bars.
Kinetics® Liftslab Floating floor Systems
using fiber glass insolation pads have sound transmission class (STC) and impact
insulation class (IIC) ratings similar to the Kinetics Model RIM Floating Floor System.
In addition to fiber glass and neoprene isolators, the
Kinetics Liftslab Floating Floor can be supplied with coil spring isolators with static
deflections available from 1/4" to 4".
Kinetics Noise Control provides factory engineering and
full installation drawings. Material provided by Kinetics includes Model FLM Isolation
Mounts, 6 mil polyethylene bond breaker, 3/4 inch PIB perimeter isolation board, perimeter
adhesive, sealant, and isolated floor drains. Factory supervision and factory installation
are available.
