| Isolated Ceilings Hangers designed specifically to suspend gypsum board ceiling:
When the building design calls for the placement of quiet spaces
such as executive offices, conference rooms, theatres, recording studios, etc., next to,
under or over noisy mechanical equipment rooms, kitchens, manufacturing spaces and the
like, additional measures must be taken to assure that quiet spaces will remain quiet.
By creating a room-within-a-room, where double partitions and a high
mass ceiling are used and where the interior members are decoupled from the structure, a
great deal more sound reduction will occur. If the room-within-a-room also includes a
floating floor, the ultimate in acoustical privacy will result.
Kinetics Noise Control, Inc., has developed systems for gypsum
wallboard which isolate the partitions from the structure while providing lateral
restraint to prevent toppling or collapse. The systems include resilient, load-bearing
underlayment, vertical joint isolation material, sway braces and top wall brackets.
Kinetics has also developed products to resiliently suspend gypsum
ceilings from the structure and to seal the perimeter to prevent acoustic leaks.

Isolated Partitions
Model KSM is a molded pre-compressed fiber glass
pad system for isolating a gypsum board wall. The isolation system shall consist of a
1" thick high density, load-bearing fiber glass isolation pad, rubber bushing, metal
spacer, washer, and anchor bolt. The pads shall be spaced 16" O.C. or spaced to carry
a design load specified by engineer.
Model NAFP-10 partition isolation material is
used to resiliently support masonry partitions. The material consists of 7/16" thick
high density, load-bearing fiber glass factory bonded to 1/8" hardboard.
Model IPRB isolated Restraining Brackets are
used for sealing and anchoring the uppermost portion of the isolated partitions to the
structure. The brackets consist of 1/2" thick isolation material factory bonded to
predrilled steel angles.
Model PSB Isolated Sway Braces are installed
between the isolated and stationary partitions to assure stability where partitions are
very tall or where lateral loads are anticipated. The sway brace shall consist of
fail-safe double acting neoprene elements incorporated into a galvanized steel bracket.
The bracket is designed for bolt and nut attachment to the non-insulated structure.
Model KWSB isolated Sway Braces shall
incorporate two interlocking "J" brackets with neoprene pad insert. Brackets
made from formed 16 ga. galvanized steel punched for screw or bolt attachment.
