SURFACE
APPLICATION: The VISUAL-PLUS + surface was developed to provide a non-glare matte
surface with excellent projection capabilities, and accept many writing instruments, such
as permanent markers, ball point pens, pencils, dry erase markers and chalk. The VISUAL
PLUS board also holds magnetic components and carriers a 50 year conditional warranty. The
surface provides many advantages, ie superior surface projection while simultaneously
writing on the board, marking grids, equations, etc. in permanent marker, subsequently
writing with chalk. Chalk then easily erased with a normal felt or foam eraser.IMPORTANT NOTE: Except for chalk, all marks made by writing
instruments must be erased with a wet cloth, including dry erase markers.
SPECIFICATION:
Materials: Porcelain enamel writing surface. Provide balanced high pressure
laminated porcelain enamel writing boards of 3 ply construction consisting of face sheet,
core material and backing.
- Face Sheet Lemco #250VP: Provide face sheet of 28 gauge (24
gauge optional) enameling grade coil steel suitable for application of architectural
porcelain. Both surfaces of steel will receive a ground coat of ceramic frit fused to the
metal. A color cover coat of ceramic frit applied and fused to one surface of the ground
coat. Firing temperature will be approximately 1500 degrees. Product to be manufactured in
accordance with the performance specifications PEI Spec. S104 for porcelain enamel steel
markerboards established by the Porcelain Enamel Institute.
- Cover coat: Provide standard gloss writing surface for dry
erase marker pens.
- Core: Provide the manufacturer's specially engineered
industrial grade 7/16" inch thick high density particle board, formed and bonded with
resin creating a substrate for improved laminating. Material complies with requirements of
ANSI A208.1, grade 1-M-1. (1/2" hardboard of 1/2" fiberboard is available but
not recommended).
- Balancing/Backing sheet: Provide manufacturer's standard
0.0015 thick aluminum foil backing, cleaned and full hard tempered for rigidity. Provides
moisture barrier. (.005, .015 thick aluminum foil or 28 gauge steel optional).
- Laminating adhesive: Provide manufacturers standard
environmentally safe high performance type adhesive.
- Trim: Any of Lemco trim types may be specified.
