GENERAL

The contractor shall provide and install a complete, hardwired, low-voltage control system for controlling lighting, receptacles, and other equipment as indicated on the drawings. The system shall be UL and NEC approved. The control system shall be LiteTouch as manufactured by LiteTouch Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah.

The system shall be capable of switching and dimming incandescent, fluorescent, solid state electronic ballast fluorescent, outlet, low-voltage incandescent loads, and solid state electronic transformer low-voltage loads. Loads may be controlled individually and / or in groups from up to 256 different control points. All switch and load assignments shall be fully user programmable.

The contractor shall provide all necessary wiring, enclosures, control modules, power supplies, control stations, central controllers and special dimmers as needed to ensure a complete and properly functioning system. The contractor shall install the system in accordance with LiteTouch’s instructions and recommendations.

WIRING

The contractor shall be responsible for providing all proper gauge wire runs, both low voltage and line voltage circuits, plus appropriate conduits and wireways where required. Systems not using dedicated low-voltage wire for control signal isolation are not acceptable.

Low voltage wiring to the switches shall be a color coded three wire conductor which picks up control stations by a simple parallel connection. Control station bus circuits available at the central controller shall match the number recommended by LiteTouch. Control station will be distributed among the circuits and a relatively even distribution is recommended. As with control station buses, connectors for output to the power control modules will match the number recommended by LiteTouch. Each circuit will be a color coded five wire shielded cable which daisy chain connects to up to sixty-four (64) power modules. A minimum system should require at least two control station circuits and two control module circuits. The number of control stations and control modules on each circuit should not exceed LiteTouch recommendations. A maximum system can consist of up to four control station circuits and four control module circuits. Again, the number of control stations and control modules on each circuit should not exceed LiteTouch recommendations. The number of wires paralleled per circuit depends upon the mechanism used.

CONTROL STATIONS

S - SERIES

H - SERIES

Sculpted:
08-2501-XXX to 08-2509-XXX 08-2901-XXX to 08-2909-XXX
Framed:
08-2701-XXX to 08-2709-XXX 08-2801-XXX to 08-2809-XXX

E-SERIES

08-2401-XXX to 08-2408-XXX

The Control Stations shall have from 1 to 9 (S and H series) or 1 to 4 (E series) push-button switches per single gang plate. Each push-button switch shall provide an LED indicator that indicates whether the function of the switch is active or inactive. On the H-series station the LED shall be integrated with the switch. On the S-series and E-series stations the LED shall be located above the switch on the faceplate. Each switch station shall be connected to the system via a common three wire bus. Switch stations shall be uniquely identified by a pair of rotary address select switches accessible on the back of the station. Control stations shall be mounted in an appropriately sized back box provided by the contractor in the locations specified on the drawings. Push-button switches, trim bezel, and faceplate cover finishes shall be selected from the standard colors and finishes listed in manufacturer’s catalog as specified.

An infrared transmitter shall be available for remotely operating predesigned control stations fitted with infrared sensors. When the transmitter is pointed in the general direction of the wall station, its switches will take on the functions of that station.

MASTER CONTROL STATION

(08-7000-AXX)

The Master Control Station (MCS) will display up to 32 S, H or E series control stations on a backlit LCD screen. The MCS can be programmed to duplicate existing stations or to contain stations unique to itself. THE MCS shall be compatible with LiteTouch Standard, Compact, and Elite CCU’s Stations selection and switch control shall be achieved using four E-series buttons. Control stations will be identified by name or location through the master menu. Any LiteTouch switch type shall be able to be activated from the Master Control Station.

One Power Supply Module shall drive up to five(5) Master Control Stations. One MCS shall equal seven (7) control stations when calculating other power supply requirements.

MANUAL OVERRIDE STATION

(08-7006-XXX)

The Manual Override Station shall have 6 push buttons per single gang plate. Each push button switch will provide an LED indicator to indicate whether the function of the switch is active or inactive. The Manual Override Station shall enable a user to control the on/off function of certain lighting loads when a communication interruption has disabled the LiteTouch system’s CCU or Standard Control Stations. A manual Override Station shall be mounted in an appropriately sized backbox provided by the contractor in the locations specified on the drawings. Buttons shall be engraved with appropriate labels per the purchaser’s specifications. Push button switches, trim bezel and faceplate cover finishes shall be selected from the standard colors and finishes.
