| When your clients pay top dollar for luxurious homes
or prime office space, they expect peace and quiet. Especially from irritating impact
noise from other floors and adjoining units. Now you can
assure your client's expectations are met - with Acousti-Mat from Maxxon Corporation.
Acousti-Mat is a dense rubber pad that inhibits sound transfer through floors. In new
wood-frame construction, Acousti-Mat can add up to 10 points to the Impact Insulation
Class (IIC) sound rating. In concrete construction, an additional 23 rating points are
possible That's a fourfold increase in sound control.

How it works.
First, Acousti-Mat is glued down over the entire wood or concrete subfloor, with about 2
inches (50 mm) extending up all walls to eliminate sound transfer to adjoining rooms.
It's then covered with a high-strength Maxxon floor underlayment. Because the
underlayment "floats" over the structural subfloor, there's no direct path for
sound transfer between the floor and ceiling.
Improves hard surface areas or the entire floor.
Sound ratings of 45 F-IIC and 5- IIC are standard requirements for multifamily housing. So
interior designs have often been limited to basic carpet and pad. Now with Acousti-Mat,
multifamily housing can feature beautiful tile and elegant hardwoods - without sacrificing
sound control. In field tests of two identically built rooms, Acousti-Mat increased the
F-IIC rating from 46 to 56. And most acousticians agree that a field rating of 55 or more
is considered excellent sound control.
